“Reckless Isolation” Is Storming A Surf Town Near You

For the last ten months or so, we’ve been hearing from parties close to the film now titled “Reckless Isolation,” that Kolohe Andino was holding hard drives carrying “one of the greatest surf films ever made,” a “masterpiece” from “the last great strike mission.”

Big, big claims, and all made straight-faced, without qualifiers or asterisks. 

Considering this is Kolohe’s first personal full-length cinematic project—and an entirely independent, self-funded effort, at that (Kolohe did this all by his damned self)—we were more than intrigued. 

Last year, with borders closed to tourists, Kolohe, along with Ian Crane, Luke Davis, Crosby and Griffin Colapinto hopped, skipped, and jumped through COVID regulations (read: loopholes), and spent a month or so basically alone in the Indonesian Archipelago, chasing every bucket list wave they’d ever dreamed of scoring. 

Did we mention alone?

We won’t spoil the rest for you (but expect an embarrassment of mind-numbingly perfect, all-time Indo reef passes as big and good as they get), and instead invite you to come out, in person, to any number of the premieres Kolohe has planned in Southern California, and up and down the US East Coast. All ticket sales will go to Indonesian families affected by covid-19.
