Surfing Gets Its Very Own Reality TV Show
ABC introduces The Ultimate Surfer.
The WSL teamed up with ABC to bring us a new reality show featuring 14 high-level surfers. The surfing will complete team and individual challenges until only one male and one female finalist remain. Look, we can bash it all we want, but the majority of us are going to crowd around the tv once a week and watch this monstrosity unfold.
According to the WSL:
The Ultimate Surfer” will gather some of the world’s greatest up-and-coming surfers to train and live together as they battle it out at the World Surf League’s (WSL) state-of-the-art Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California, powered by Kelly Slater’s human-made wave technology, in the hope of competing amongst the best athletes in the world’s fastest-growing sport. Slater will serve as on-air talent and special correspondent for the show.
The cast includes Zeke Lau, Luke Davis, Malia Ward, Anastasia Ashley, and more. The list of special correspondents for the show features the golden boy Kelly Slater and the golden voice Joe Turpel.
The first episode airs in August, so be sure to stock up on wine this summer. You’ll need a few bottles for all those watch parties with the fellas.
