We don’t need an excuse to run photos of Steph Gilmore. But, the Roxy x Courrèges Collection will do. 

Steph Gilmore lives in Malibu and doesn’t stress herself out about world titles. She doesn’t need to, she has five. The gal surfs sporadically, stays plugged in culturally and then appears in collab products like this for her main sponsor, Roxy. She’s a good example of doing life right – better than most. And, we’re aware this copy’s gushing with hyperbole, but seriously look at her; she’s infectious, we can’t help ourselves.  

Steph has more style on a wave than 98 percent of the surf world without turning – it looks like that’s the one thing she was meant to do. And why would Steph be the perfect ambassador for a project like this? André Courrèges is a French fashion designer, known for his chic mid-century designs influenced by modernism and futurism, exploiting modern technology. Here’s a modern classic, not dissimilar to Ms Gilmore.

We thought collabs were going to die back in 2013 but now they’re so much more meaningful than just cross pollinating a few logos.
