Matt Bromley, man amongst mountains, South Africa

With the Dungeons Big Wave World Tour event just around the corner, all sorts of chaos has been unfolding at South Africa’s premier big wave spots. One of the event’s invitees, Matt Bromley, has been particularly busy scaling aquatic mountains at Sunset, less than ten clicks from the contest site. “Along with Grant ‘Twiggy’ Baker, Matt caught some of the best waves of the day, taking off critically late beneath the lip, executing ball-wrenching drops and drawing new-school lines in search of the illusive big wave barrel,” says photographer Alan van Gysen. “Here he is at Sunset, a man amongst the mountains and close to home.”
