Lee Wilson fills the murky brilliance of east coast Bali, Indo

And here is Lee Wilson, on the east coast of Bali, moments before his fun-time tropical freesurf turned into a painful exercise in skin removal. “That was his second wave and it ended his session,” says the photographer, Scotty Hammonds. “Lee went on to face plant on this wave and almost tear his chest and face off (as shown via inset on the right there). We ended up at some random sketchy hospital in the middle of Bali and Lee had to get his face stitched up. Lucky he didn’t lose a nipple. He says that’s one of the heavier beatings he’s taken in his life.”
