Watch: Where The Hell Is Kanoa Igarashi?

Renowned 21st-century philosopher Dwayne Michael Carter II once said:

Paper chasing, tell that paper, ‘Look, I’m right behind ya’ 
Bitch, real G’s move in silence like lasagna. 

And despite him being too young to recognize that lyric, I don’t believe a more apt description has ever been made of Kanoa Igarashi. 

Think about it.  

The guy has no fixed residence. He follows money around the world, whether it’s to be mined from a surf comp in Indo or a fashion shoot in France. And without a Tour schedule at our disposal, even during a pandemic, it’s impossible to know where in the world Kanoa might be.

Smart money is on one of four places:

1. his childhood home of Huntington Beach, CA

2. his official “home nation” of Japan

3. the place where he owns the most houses, Portugal 

4. the place where he spends his winters, Hawaii

Based on the above edit, which is aptly named “Silence”, we might soon have to add Tahiti to the list.

It’ll not be long before he adapts the John/Andy/Kelly-perfected, Raimana-approved, no-hand backside funnel technique.
