Simon Hetrick Traveled The World For Our Viewing Pleasure
Experience Portugal, Indo, Panama, and beyond through the lens of a gifted Maryland teen.
Give Maryland teen Simon Hetrick a passport, a surfboard, and Adobe Premiere, and you’re bound to get gold in return.
The Maryland teen has been starring in, directing, scoring, and editing his own surf parts for years, which left just the role of filmer to be filled in this performance art piece. Matt McQueeney mostly filled that role, but honestly, if somebody made a long enough version of those claw-grabber-arm thingies, we’re pretty sure Simon could record, pan, and focus a camera on himself while he simultaneously rode waves.
In this short, titled Fogo de Graxa (“Grease Fire”, for the uninitiated), Simon visits Indo, Panama, and Portugal between quality sessions at home. It ain’t a bad life.
