Is being a World Champion all it’s cracked up to be?

Like, once the champagne’s gone flat and the texts have stopped flowing, is a surfer’s life truly superior after defeating the world? Or do Title-holders fall back into the same habits and thought patterns, trying to scratch an itch that is impervious to permanent soothing?

Depends on the person, I guess. But it’s clear that our current World Champ, Italo Ferreira, is reveling in his achievements every goddamn day. Just as a world-beater should. 

In this latest Youtube installment, Italo tackles Rio’s extra-medium surf with Lucas Chumbo and some skimboarder. The right they surf is a big, sloppy burger but the ledgey left at the 6-minute mark is well worth your time. 

Oh, and best of all, this one’s got English subtitles so we can all follow along. As we’d assumed, Italo is quite funny!
