How To Succeed On The QS And Get Supremely Barreled Around The World
Visions from Leonardo Fioravanti’s qualification year in a short film called Balance.
The WQS has long been regarded as a black hole for professional surfers.
A place that swallows talent. That crushes dreams. That curb-stomps hearts and makes a person never want to see another air reverse ever again. Most competitors return from their QS campaigns with Vietnam eyes and 3-5 less stickers on their boards.
And even those chosen few who eventually make the CT succumb to the black hole, falling into surf clip obscurity for a year while they put their heads down and focus on qualification.
But not Leonardo Fioravanti.
Last year, Leo qualified for his second stint on the CT. He also got supremely barreled in the Philippines, Indonesia, Ireland and Morocco — and he’s got an edit to prove it.
Dare we say we see shades of a certain surfing great in his approach to Desert Point?
