What Not To Do On The Wave Of The Day
Will Reid demonstrates.
The South Pacific is rife with storms and what does that mean? The Pan-American west coast is pumping!
From Chile to Vancouver, south swells have marched their way north and west to meet hungry hungry surfers near the coast. September is widely regarded as the best surfing month across the Americas, so the timing of these swells is apt.
But some surfers have still been rather antsy.
Unable to wait for the swells to make landfall in SoCal, Los Angeles teen Will Reid booked a ticket Nicaragua, where hollow beach breaks and morning offshores are included in the price of admission.
During his stint, Will encountered two remarkable wedges – the best waves of their respective days – both of which picked him and dropped him on his ass like a high school bully. The late-nineties version, not cyber.
We found the rest of Will’s clips commendable and his interview of Orwellian eloquency.
