There’s Nothing Quite Like A Central American Point
Stevie Pittman does the honors.
Below Mexico’s famed tacos and above Colombia’s prized cocaine is a land of beauty and ambiguity. According to a quick Google search, there are widespread disputes around whether Central America, comprised of countries Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, is technically a part of the North or South American continent.
One thing that’s not in dispute, however, is the quality of surf that exists on this fertile isthmus. Panama and Costa offer quality beachies and reefs on both their Pacific and Caribbean coasts, southern Nicaragua boasts all-day offshores, and El Salvador is home to some of the world’s most consistently pumping points. Better yet, the living is cheap, the weather is typically 80 degrees, and the women are equal parts crazy and crazy beautiful.
No wonder Stevie Pittman took a trip south this summer.
