Brad Domke And The Loveliest Thing About Our Current State
Kill all boredom.
You know what the beautiful thing about our era of wave riding is? Boredom and its result. From Jamie O’Brien doing step-off at Pipeline, Tom Curren modifying a skimboard because he just wants to go faster, to Ryan Burch on the foam block and Leroy Bellet and Russel Bierke’s slab-hunting, tow-in imagery madness. As surfing advances so does the alternative craft and creativity, and never before has there been a time where nearly any sort of vessel, if ridden well is accepted by the masses. It’s a beautiful thing and something that Brad Domke has played a huge part in. Remember when he whipped in Puerto Escondido on a disc, then took it to Jaws? In short, that was proper fucked and we loved it. And on account of all of the above, we dig this short trailer for a film Brad and Dylan Palmer have been working on called “Skimdonesia”. Because all of surfing’s purism and dramatics aside, the ocean is a playground and this is fun.
