Bronson Meydi and Varun Tandjung test drive the new JS model.

The Hawaiians came first. Then the caucasian convicts — sun-stained, shameless, a little hard to stomach. A few North Americans slipped in, clean-cut but good enough to matter. Then the Brazilians arrived — awkward at first, legs splayed uncomfortably wide, but soon burning everything down until there were world titles, olympic medals, and respect. But when the South American storm blows itself out, someone else will rise.

The Indo Gut-Bomb is coming, and if Rio Waida is the unsettling rumble in your venter, Bronson Meydi is the full-blown explosion that follows.

The three-minute clip up top is the first taste of the new JS model, The Golden Child — a name that could easily belong to Bronson. Varun Tandjung, heir to Rizal’s royal bloodline, also makes an appearance— another Indo prodigy who recently joined the Tenorè roster.

The entire edit was shot in one session, which is absurd given the number of video-game-glitch punts the boys land. The archipelago’s offspring are looking scary, and so is the new JS model. It’s no wonder these boards have been among the top performers in our Stab In The Dark series.
