Red Bull Cape Fear uses a unique, overlapping heat format. Four surfers will compete in five heats with the winner of each heat progressing straight to the final. The highest placed surfer at the end of the final will be crowned the Red Bull Cape Fear Champion for2019. Red Bull Cape Fear started in 2014 and 2019 will be the third year the event has run.
