“I Think You Guys Wanted Mikey, But That Cunt’s Pretty Much On Tour Now”
Kael Walsh is coming to Texas…if he can find the joint.
Stab High’s only a fortnight away! A comparative eternity in this fast-paced and decadent age, but when your destination of choice is Texas, you better find a way to get there before you plan – or at least know where it is.
Kael Walsh is one invitee who has some Googling to do.
We’ll be honest, Kael’s voice call is tinged with truth; we would’ve loved to see Mongrel Mike’s locks blowing en route to the Texan bowl, unfortunately, Mikey’s essentially a full-time WSL tour dude now, and that means he’s unable to come and jump at our air event.
Fortunately however, Mikey’s not the only aerially adept Aussie with a penchant for inverted airs; we didn’t have to look far to find another, in fact, we just nabbed his Quik teammate Kael instead. The 18-year old from Yallingup might not have a home-job haircut, but he does share a thirst for hitting ramps as hard and as fast as possible.
He’ll be joining our list of 20ish surfers, most of which have been decided – slide over here to vote for the Stab wildcard. The event will be going down in two weeks time, September 22nd at BSR Cable Park, Waco, Texas.
Of course, there’ll be plenty of surfing, drinking, and a whole array absurdities both in and out of competition. In addition, attendees will be tapping their toes to live music from Poolside – beside the pool – once the finals are wrapped, and can get their own air over at the slide since the pool’s locked up.
If you already live in Texas and have an interest in surfing, you’ve undoubtedly been there, if not, a return flight from somewhere else ain’t much of an expense. Los Angeles to Dallas will only set you back $200 odd bones, $100 more from New York, and if you’re wanting to trade bogans for rednecks like Kael, then you’ll want to turn those $1000 Aus flights into a full-fledged holiday.
For more info head over to the Stab High site here, or if you’re already convinced, then slide straight here to purchase tickets to our poorly run surf event.
