Jean Da Silva Is Dead At 32
The surf community mourns.
This morning the international surf community woke to tragic news, that handsome Brazilian goofy foot, and perennial ‘QS presence Jean da Silva is dead at 32.
The details around his death are still forthcoming and the early rumors are heartbreaking.
For the last decade, da Silva’s been a competitive threat, taking out Gabe Kling to win the 2008 6-Star Estoril Coast Pro in Portugal, or, more recently, winning the 2012 East Coast Championships in Virginia Beach, against a young and on fire Filipe Toledo.
Our condolences to the da Silva family, and all those close to him.
We’ll remember him today by enjoying JDS’s highlight below. Rest In Power, JDS.
