Unlike a lot of young guns, you won’t see Andrew ‘Droid’ Doheny do an air-reverse on every wave. It’s not ’cause he can’t fly (he can), it’s because he knows there’s more to surfing and digs on a powerful explosion. Late last year, in Bali, Droid made it to the final of the Oakley World Pro Juniors. He lost to Davey Cathels, but it was a competitive side of Droid we hadn’t seen previously and boy, was it thrilling. Stab vibes on frontside disasters like this, especially when they’re clicked into reverse. A little Dane-esque, but with just enough of Droid’s flavour to make it his own. Doheny, attack!
