Photos: Day one of the Margaret River Pro

Round one of the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro wrapped today. Offshore and a little chubby in the morning, the wind kicked into the rights by the afternoon and put some pepper in the sections. The competitive highlight of the day was Julian Wilson’s 16 point combined total. The high performance highlight of the day was Gabriel Medina, John John Florence and Kolohe Andino’s heat. And the best gossip of the day was Kelly Slater sporting no major sponsor stickers on his board, and explaining in detail to Pete Mel where he’s at with the split.
