Who Is The 11-Year Old Chinese Girl Landing Huge Air Reverses???
Did we just find our newest Ladybird?
Patti Zhou.
Unless you’re a certified snow-bruh, there’s no chance you’ve even heard whispers of the Beijing-born, Colorado-based starlet.
We hadn’t either, until she posted this video, and it got plastered all over our DM’s.
This February, Patti made history, becoming the youngest ever athlete to land on the podium at a Dew Tour event. She got second, a result of some switch 900’s and other absurd things for an 11-year old to do.
Then, out of the blue, she posted this surf clip, which is allegedly from when she was 10-years old.
Looks like she’s got the backhand straight airs on lock, which would have certainly helped her case in Round 2 at our recent Vans Stab High Indonesia. She’d have given Matt Meola and Chippa Wilson a run for their rupiah.
Also, her technique on rail might be even more surprising than her airs. Aerial cross pollination is common, but casual rail perfection from a snowboarder is rare.
We tried to reach out, but she doesn’t even follow us on IG, so our messages didn’t get through.
Guess she just surfs for fun…
…and I should probably take up knitting.
