Jack Robbo, Small Wave Surfer
Watch the Cooly-transplant get his pre-WSL wiggle on.
Was moving to Coolangatta the best thing Jack Robinson could have done for his surfing? Quite possibly.
The West Australian has never had any trouble finding results — or visions — at waves of truth, but only recently has his pop and potency in small waves begun to look World Title worthy. Even if battling at Snapper on the reg hasn’t been the main factor in this clear improvement, it certainly hasn’t hurt.
In his SSOTY interview, Parker Coffin said “When I watch [Jack Robinson] surf right now, it looks like he’s got a whole new confidence and is in world title form.” Based on Dan Scott’s new clip, we’d definitely agree.
Though, after last year’s WSL Finals loss, the question remains; does Robbo have what it takes to best the Brazzos at Lowers?
With a freshly stuck RedBull sticker on his board, some spicy Sharpeye quads (see above) and in-demand coach Leandro Dora on his side, Jack’s confidence is surely there.
We’ll see if his surfing is too (hopefully tomorrow, if da Pipeline decides to cooperate).
