Performance To Burn, Zero Hazardous Waste, And Made In The USA!

The new Mayhem x Lib Tech Puddle Fish is every ripper environmentalists non-toxic dream whip!

After hearing that …Lost and Lib Tech were planning on releasing the beloved Puddle Fish in their proprietary construction, we just had to get our hands on one. Arriving earlier this month, we let it sit unridden in the corner, iced until the first signs of a south pulse.

But before we could wax up the Seattle-made honeycomb number, it was lifted from its perch by our fearless leader, Sam McIntosh, who, desperate for a dip, knocked out early this week unbeknownst to us, returning in the AM sans board and with a skip in his step, claiming he had a “deal to make.”

“You want that thing, don’t you?!” we cut him off.

“It’s an absolute rocket!” he said, assuring us we’d never see the board again.

Now, for those who aren’t familiar, while the rest of the surf industry was drawing Party lines in the sand—between the cottage industry of venerable foam and fiberglass cobblers still eeking out a living huffing fumes and squeegeeing S-glass, and the wave of high-end Asian imports flooding domestic markets—the boys at Lib Tech’s Washington basecamp have kept their heads down building the most efficient, sustainable, large-scale surfboard manufacturing process in the country, truly the last (and only) of its kind.

While there’s much more to the brand’s pursuit of  non-hazardous working conditions and the use of non-toxic materials whenever possible (which we’ll be getting to at a future date, trust us), their relationship with Matt “Mayhem” Biolos and …Lost Surfboards is testament to their commitment to not just safety and sustainability, but to building full-fledge high performance equipment.

The Puddle Fish is “designed for unadulterated lateral speed in small surf, and a fast fishy spin on the very popular Puddle Jumper… With an inverted swallow, set inside a wide square tail, and a speed-bleeding, afterburner release channel exiting the tail.”

“The PuddleFish allows full force, small wave, rail surfing with confidence,” says Mayhem. “And none of the cumbersome drift usually associated with “alternative” fish shapes,” says Mayhem.

Currently, these zippy, sustainable, MADE IN THE USA numbers are available from 5’2″ to 6’2″ in 2″ increments.
