…Lost x Tesla Collab Sells Out In Minutes
Now going on eBay for $2500-5000, but are there any bidders?
What is it about Elon Musk that gives so many people a hard-on? Is it his constant meddling in affairs with which he has no experience? Is it his predilection for pedo-accusations? Do people envy the magical expansion of his previously receding hairline? Do they love the fact that he seems on track to form his own version of the Spacing Guild?
Is it part of the American dream, that ability to become hailed as a visionary by dint of using one’s wealth to point intelligent people at a problem and say, “Get it done”?
I don’t understand it, though I recognize that my opinion hardly matters. The Musk cult is massive and seems to be growing every day. To the point that …Lost can slap a Tesla label on a couple hundred surfboards and sell out of them in a matter of minutes.
They are pretty, and a $1500 price tag is actually fairly reasonable for a board with so much effort put into its aesthetic. And Biolos makes great boards, so while I bet most of them never touch water I’m sure they’d go well if they did. The fact that they don’t come with fins is a bit ridiculous. Wholesale prices on composite FCS2s ain’t high, it seems like they could have easily been included.
I suppose it’s a moot point since, as already stated, they’ll never see the ocean.
I can’t believe surfers are buying them. Wall-hangers, resellers, the spoiled brats of the one percent, Silicon Valley tech nerds looking to conspicuously consume, sure. But not surfers, right?
A bunch of them already have already hit eBay, prices ranging from $2500-$5000. Not many bids on the ones available, so demand may have been overestimated.
Not that it matters to …Lost. They already made a pretty penny from this little stunt.
Good for them.
