At the Quiksilver Pro, Gold Coast yesterday, Taj Burrow surfed what was arguably the best heat ever seen in competition. He scored two nine’s and two eight’s against opponent Adriano De Souza, who also scored two nine’s (though in the lower end of the spectrum compared to Taj).
It was the highest-scoring heat certainly in the Quiksilver Pro’s history, and most probably the ASP’s history (though confirmation of this fact’s gonna take a bit o’ leg work… hey, we’re up to the challenge.)
Taj was firing, going big and fast on wider waves that pushed down the point with more open faces for turns. Though Adriano’s performance was commendable as hell, Taj was surfer of the day, hands down.
