Californication with Dion Agius

The thing we love about Mr Dion Agius is that he’s perennially unapologetic for what he is. He likes thrift stores, vintage cameras, and deceased wild animals. So what? Mr Agius was the one who started this whole chic freesurfing vagrant thing, so you can’t accuse him of jumping on the bandwagon, when he’s the one up front behind the wheel. Like a headless horseman round Sleepy Hollow, quaffing hooch out of a gourd (vintage), and scooping up maidens as he passes. In all seriousness, one anonymous Stab staffer let out a little squeal when shots of Dion’s latest Los Angered shoe reached the office; “If these had a Louis Vuitton or Saint Laurent logo on them then I’d be all over them!” Well they aren’t, and, they’re a pinch at $150. They’re part of the rare crop of footwear that’ll see you cruising, surfing, skating, dining and waltzing. The only thing you really need to take them off for is sleeping, and even that’s optional. As Globe continue to refine their act it’s hard to see where Dion starts and they begin. The transition from full time travelling man to President of Globe Towers is surely but an email away for Dion. One thing that’s quintessential to the success of a brand is a ‘feel,’ and you know when you’re watching a Globe production. Artsy with a dash of fun, Kerouac meets Wes Anderson, it’s about levels when you’re selling product you see. And if you can layer your product push to tickle a reputable media house, who has no prior obligation to post it, to gush, then you’re surely doing something right. Bravo Globe and bravo Dion Agius, you damned, beautiful fools.
