Teenage Girl Killed In West Australian Shark Attack
While surfing with her father.
A 17-year-old female teenager has been killed after a shark attack near Esperance in Western Australia. She was surfing with her father in the late afternoon during the Easter holiday at a break called Kelp Beds, and reportedly lost her left leg during the attack.
While CPR was performed on the beach by police, ambulance and Esperance Marine Rescue, she was still in critical condition when she arrived at Esperance Hospital. WA police later confirmed that night that she died after massive blood loss.
This is close to the same location where 23-year-old surfer Sean Pollard lost both hands by a shark in 2014.
This attack will surely open the divisive subject of culling wide open.
