Kai Neville Is Making A New Surf Film
An EPOKHE film, coming to a city near you this November! (Thanks for the tip-off, Dion.)
Whilst poking around EPOKHE last week, talking to Dion Agius about their new season, the Tasmanian let slip a secret. We prodded for details on these wild candy reds, Dion explained: “Creed McTaggart is so hands on with all his frame’s designs and colourways; he came back with this blood red colour while he was working on the new film with Kai…”
That’s right, as we speak, Kai Neville is cutting a new EPOKHE film. The man behind Cluster, Dear Suburbia and Lost Atlas is finally making a new fucking film. And, it’s releasing in just over a month. Can this come at a better time? Taylor Steele just (supposedly) made his last surf film.
”We’ve been working on our first EPOKHE surf film for the last year now.” Dion told us. “Kai has been locked away for the last few weeks, trying to get it ready for the European tour next month. We’ll tour the film around USA and Australia in November.”
A filmmaker as talented and ambitious as Kai was always going to make a new film; but a full-length EPOKHE film? It’s perfect. Wether the film will be limited to EPOKHE posse exclusively is yet to be determined, but we have heard the rumours of a new team member announcement. Stab is already in talks with Kai about the new project; expect to see an interview from him in the coming days.
Stay tuned for premiere dates and more. Until then, enjoy the Cluster B-Sides above.
