Tip 2 Tip: The Seven Ghosts
By Internet standards this is long in the tooth, but we had to post it in case anyone hasn’t seen it yet. This is kinda like the Wave Garden video we posted a while back – something that, even though the majority’ll never see it in real life, the whole surfing world is intrigued by. On what Tom Curren described as “The most amazing Search trip in 20 years,” Brazilian Bruno Santos, Australian Dean Brady, Frenchman Tyler Larronde, Indonesian Oney Antwar and Tom himself travelled deep into the Indonesian jungle, to a tidal bore that local villagers call The Seven Ghosts River. No description’ll do the wave justice, so you’re better off watching the clip for yourself. Though this is only a teaser, the extended version’ll be on the Rip Curl site, 11th of April (that’s one week from now.) Perfect, murky, monday morning escapism.
