One Small Step For Man, One Giant Leap For Mitch Coleborn
A not-so-tiny Hawaiian hop.
Not so long ago, images from the air took thousands of dollars to capture. And that was ok because, as the law of supply and demand dictates, these photos were worth a lot of money to buyers on account of their exclusivity. Not just anyone was gonna rent a helicopter to take surf photos.
Nowadays, thanks to the advent of the drone, aerial-derived surf shots are a dime a dozen. For better or for worse, that’s led to a drop in appreciation and subsequently a drop in price on these images. Sometimes though, a drone shot comes through our inboxes that intrigues us enough to think, Hmm, what a unique photo. We should pay for that.
Go ahead and get lost in Mr. Carey’s eyes from the sky. It’s worth every penny.
