Gallery: Summer Sessions Lights Up Newcastle

We sunk $5 Summer Bright Lager tins  watching two gay guys rule on stage yesterday in the setting sun and we could have died happy there and then.

Finally, an event that peaks at 4pm! Seriously, why do the main acts roll onto stage at 10pm? That is our favourite thing about this tour and we’re signed up to roll along to every one as it makes its way up the east coast of Australia.

And, the tour we’re referring to is the Summer Bright Lager tour which burns up the east coast of Australia with Middle Kids and Cub Sport, playing iconic venues absolutely for free.

If you haven’t seen Cub Sport, we don’t think you’ve ever seen a more impressive show upfront. The lead singer and keyboardist are engaged – while waiting for the same sex marriage law to pass – and have some of the best wardrobe you’ve ever seen.

We had shredsters Kalani Ball and Ryan Callinan join us for a surf as well before we got busy in the arvo sun.

Anyways, the photos tell the story. It was at the Cambridge Hotel, a place that once hosted Fugazi. See you this weekend in Bondi, lovers…

Check out the scenes from Life Without Andy above.
