The Best Celebrity Surfer According To Kelly Slater

Another important update from the secondhand smoke inducing office of StabMZ.

In today’s dose of news you didn’t need but clicked on anyways as you search for solitude between the shark related media delirium, Kelly Slater was cornered in New York last week by the paparazzi. And rather than asking him about his results on tour, the secret behind his wave pool, or how much his Brioni suit from the Met Gala really cost, they confronted him with a much more pressing question: Who’s the best celebrity surfer?

Now, we’re crazy for celebs who can work some foam beneath their feet. Just a little less than we are for Mr Slater himself. So when we’re given a combo of the two? Well, you see why we couldn’t resist. Anyways, when asked, Slater was quick to respond. His answer? Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Marisa Miller. If you don’t know who this is, we recommend you fire up the google search now. We’ll wait.

Marisa is pretty legit when it comes to balancing some foam beneath her feet. She’s from Santa Cruz, and fell in love with surfing at a young age. Her aunt was previously on the pro tour and she’s an active member of the Surfrider Foundation. Not to mention, before becoming a full-time model, she ran a surf school and placed second in the celebrity division at the 2004 installation of the Kelly Star Surf Invitational (there might be a connection here).
