Welcome to PhotoLyfe, in which Stab’s favourite photographers answer questions about themselves with their own images. It’s that old picture-tells-a-thousand-words chestnut but with more colour and pop. It’s a way to cut out all the bullshit. It’s like jacking into the main vein of those who supply us with exquisite surf imagery every day. Give thanks by studying each image with a more careful eye than ever!
All of Woody Gooch’s work just has… mood. There’s a solitary element to it, perhaps a reflection of the man, or more accurately a reflection of the man’s tastes. But, there’s still an unmissable sparkle. With 90 percent of Woody’s childhood unfolding on the shores of Noosa Heads, and the positive impact that he believes homeschooling has left on him, Woody’s visual interpretation of the world sure is bright. “Photography for me started off as being a 13-year-old’s hobby at the skate park, taking photos of my friends with an old digital camera,” he says. “Now it’s a full on job and positive bucket of passion. My good friends have definitely fired the inspiration that I feed off each day.”
