Jack Freestone is now part of the Epokhe family
Affable Gold-Coaster joins highly wearable sunglasses company.
Epøkhe’s crew is limited edition. They only add one or two ambassadors a year. They’re more a group of friends, who all just happen to surf immensely well, and also produce a highly wearable line of shades. Just today, Epokhe added their newest addition and first World Tour surfer to the team: Jack Freestone. Jack had to sit Bells out due to a post-Snapper injury, but the sickeningly handsome Gold Coaster is back for Margaret River. Jack joins co-founders Dion Agius, Kai Neville and Mitch Coleborn, and team riders Creed McTaggart and Nate Tyler, in one of surfing’s most affable smattering of gents.
“We’ve all obviously been great mates with Jack for years now,” says part-owner and friendliest man in surfing, Dion Agius. “Kai (Neville) worked with him pretty heavily through Dear Suburbia and Cluster, and Mitch and Jack are pretty much best mates. It was funny because we never even really talked about Epøkhe with him, but it wasn’t until Jack became a free agent that we thought, Fuck, what about Jack as a part of the team? And at about the exact same time, Jack hit us up to see if we would be interested in him coming on board. Of course, we all said shit yeah, and that was it.
“I still can’t believe it, our tiny little brand is only three years old now and we have our first WCT surfer. It’s fucking crazy. We just finished our first team trip with all the boys around Byron last week for a new Epokhe short film Kai is making, and just having the whole team together, everyone’s just good mates Drinking beers at the Bowlo every evening after surfing all day. It was just the sickest fucking thing in the world. It made me so proud of how far the brand has come and so goddamn excited for the future. If we play our cards right, we could be the next Julbo…”
