“Disposable In New York” As Shot By Tosh Tudor, Ainara Aymat, And Andy Nieblas

Look who showed up late to the afterparty…

The developing of this film was a delayed affair. Following the Vans Duct Tape in New York–an event that occurred earlier this month–we hopped a flight straight to Waco to film for a project that will be hitting pixels mid-November. The delay continued when I jumped between Dallas Fortworth to L.A.X to Mexico immediately following filming in Waco, with a final suspension when the camera store up the road from our office lost and then relocated the rolls days later. All of this is a longwinded way of saying that these photos showed up a little late to the afterparty, but are here now…mostly.

Over the four days/nights we spent from Rockaway Beach to the Lower East Side and Williamsburg, I’d handed out four cameras to five sliders: Tosh Tudor, Andy Neiblas, Ainara Aymat, Pat Schmidt and Karina Rozunko. With developing options limited in Central Texas, and a busy schedule of shooting front of mind, we held on to the Duct Tape disposable cameras.

Out of the four, only three made it back. The missing link is a shared roll that Pat then Karina shot during Al Knost’s Tan Madonna Premiere / rock ’n roll escapade at Rockaway Brewers. And, that’s regrettable, as it was the finale and the rowdiest/loosest night of the four-day whirlwind. We’d left the party in a haze, and before I had a chance to get the camera back from Karina, I’d gone to Texas. When I contacted Karina with hopes of obtaining the 27 snaps, she was in Canada with the camera in tow. Maybe we’ll get them back, eventually.

Scroll south for Tosh Tudor’s view of the opening party at the Flowershop; Aryana’s clicks from the premiere of her film, Sambal Sambal, at Rockaway Beach Club; and, Andy Nieblas’ daytime photography from finals day down by the seaside.
