Chippa Wilson’s Tiki Bar Tour Finale Was Always Going To Be Rowdy
Scenes from last night’s Octopus triple header in Costa Mesa!
Saddling up to the bar last night at Costa Mesa’s Tiki Bar, Chippa Wilson casually inquired as whether we’d happened to see any women in lingerie…
“What!? What do you mean have we seen any women in lingerie?”
“Every. Time. Every time, mate.”
Turns out, Chippa’s no stranger to Tiki Bar—which often hosts women in various states of undress—and the Costa Mesa dive made for the perfect ending to what has been a two-month tear for ol’ Chip.
About two months ago, we caught up with him at home, as he was getting his house (and house on wheels) in order, before a 60 day bender, bouncing from Aus to California, California to Texas, Texas to France, France to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Rome, and just Wednesday, Rome back to California for last night’s finale for his new project, “Video No. 4.”
And all of this on the back of four months of back to back to back to back trips, filming for this project. Needless to say, you could see the exhaustion in his eyes, as Stab ordered another bourbon and soda, and Dion Agius’ “Dark Hollow” and Brendon Gibbens’ “Homebody” warmed up the crowd, before “Video No. 4” came on the screen, grindcore blaring as loud as the house sound guy could morally allow.
After the flick, which premieres here on Sunday, Kevlar and Mom and the Mailman closed down the night, which ended very late, indeed. With the final premiere for “Video No.4” wrapped, Chippa’s on a plane as we speak, home for four days and then…
“I’m going surfing,” Chip told us. A couple friends, no cameras. Just a surf trip. And a well deserved one.
