An eBay page worth your time: Friends of Jess

You might know Simon Nicholson as one of South Africa’s most prized surfers, a gent who missed World Tour qualification by one spot a few years back, and as ex-marketing manager of Volcom South Africa. Recently, Simon’s wife, Jess, lost a battle with brain cancer. Their two kids, Joel, 4 and Anna, 2, are now left without a mum. Simon’s been paying close to US$25k every month for Jess’s treatment, which in South African money is, like a gazillion Rand. Kinda incomprehensible. To help Simon out, various pals have pulled together an eBay page which features some killer items – the profits of which will all go to repaying Jess’s medical bills. Sure, it’s kinda hard to donate money to things that don’t directly affect you. But this is different because all you’re really doing is bidding on eBay for gems like Kelly’s signed Volcom Fiji Pro jersey, a signed Taj DHD, a Dusty Payne Mayhem, signed Jack Johnson ukelele or an Andy Irons Mayhem.
