A Surfer’s Guide To Austin, Texas

When heading to Texas—which for us is typically Stab High (or Waco) related—we book all of our flights in and out of Austin.

BSR Surf Resort is almost equidistant to Austin and Dallas, but there’s a certain magnetism about Austin that keeps us coming back. It’s the music, the food, the people, drinks and Texas heat. Austin is electric, intoxicating. And while it’s not quite Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York; Austin is a damn fine city. It’s said that 120 people move to Austin daily.

At Stab High this year, we teamed up with Bumble—the once-strictly-dating-app that has transcended into something for everyone. Find a friend, find a local, and in Austin, maybe even find a buddy to hop in the car with and make the two-hour (or so) drive into BSR Surf Resort for a public, or if you have the means, private session.

In the wake of our event a few months back, we can’t help but feel nostalgic toward the Lone-Star state’s liberal enclave of Austin. We urge anyone who likes a good time to take a trip, or at least tack it on to your Waco sojourn.

Above is a bit of advertorial detailing all the reasons you should download the Bumble App when you arrive in our third favorite American city. You may find love, lust, or maybe just a new friend. But whoever they are, hopefully they’ll pull up the skirt of a city lovingly called the Music Capital of the World.
