Derrick Disney rides a whole lot of surfboards very well. He is also the constructor of most of the boards he rides. His style could be considered alternative – twin fins, single fins, fishes, logs, the occasional thruster, long hair, braids, zip-up jacket, slickskin long arm short leg (backzip, obvi!), tie-dye, 17.5-inch outseam, understated, laidback, chilled out, cosmic… you get the picture.

His sponsor, Vissla, has released a line dedicated to all things D Diz, The Gado Gadoo Collection. As they put it, “The Gado Gadoo Collection is characterized by simplistic, retro pieces with a modern and fun feel. Gado Gadoo gets its namesake from Indonesia’s deliciously spicy dish (gado gado) that you should probably plan on trying during your next surf trip down there… It really is the best. As is the fresh spread of goods in this collection.”

Being that simple, retro, modern and fun are all things we particularly enjoy, this collection by Vissla is no exception.
