5 (More) Things I’ll Probably Impulse Buy
Because my computer saves my CC details, and I’ve been drinking.
1.) Slowtide Changing Poncho
I want to experience the exhilaration of an early morning California swell in fall. One where corduroy lines are stacked to the horizon and you know you’re surfing. So, you throw on your poncho, drop your pants and that offshore wind blows right up onto your bare undercarriage; it’ll be like Listerine for the soul. I want that sensation. I need one of these.
2.) Deanna Templeton: The Swimming Pool
Deanna Templeton has become one of my favorite photographers and this book is her most recent series. Being Ed Templeton’s wife, her work often gets overlooked but has begun to garner the attention she deserves. She shoots entirely on film and pieces together a fine series, which I enjoy. The water and light in every photo look almost fake. Plus, I think one of my friends is in this book somewhere, but she won’t tell me what page.
3.) Beastie Boys Licensed To Ill (CD)
If I can look back on my life and find one thing I’ve done and say “that was cool” it would be that “Licensed To Ill” was the first CD I ever bought with money that wasn’t my parents or stolen. That CD has long since been scratched and destroyed, and I’ve been meaning to buy a new one – now, all I’ll need to do is find something to play it in. Hmm, maybe I should get the vinyl…
4.) Born x Raised Orgy SS Tee Shirt
I feel like I don’t really need to explain this shirt. It lets the world know what you’re about even if you aren’t really about it. Best case scenario you get a good laugh from your friends. Worst case scenario you meet an old swinger couple from Phoenix, Arizona. Their names are Rick and Juanita. They are well out of your age and weight class, but they are one hundred percent about what your shirt says. Go ahead, give it your best go.
5.) 163cc MINI XRS Kids Buggy Go Kart
This has been a long standing discussion between my friend and I. We decided that this is the best way to get to Lowers. Eat your heart out Ken Block. There’s an extra seat for your lady friend and maybe a cooler in her lap, with a couple beers (O’Douls, of course). Real men drink non-alcoholic beer and drive Go Karts…
