It’s a resource-heavy ordeal, designing ranges and the creative direction to match. And while some campaigns strike our feeds with engaging velocity, others resemble little more than a photographer’s afternoon spent with a paper roll and a box of samples. Sometimes it’s the subtle additions that make all the difference, the animation inclusion, accompanying music, lensman’s trademark treatment or the work of a fine artist to inject some colour.

Recognised for their tasteful splashing of pen and brushwork on everything from product to imagery, The Critical Slide Society folk commissioned Indonesian illustrator Arswandaru Cahyo to involve himself with their latest release, ‘Greetings From’, where he applied his fine creations to the above gallery shot by Hunter Thomson. Arswandaru grew up in the city of Jakarta, preferring to spend school hours on a skateboard or drawing, which he continues to do so on a daily basis. Eventually he added a surfboard to his quiver, started up his own magazine and continued to successfully indulge in the freelance illustrator lifestyle.
