The perfect accompaniment to most situations.

By now, you are, or certainly should be, aware of Wash, the band which features Creed McTaggart (bass/vocals), Ellis Ericson (guitar), and Beau Foster (drums). They released their debut ep, Point Of View, last March; four tracks of grit, power chords and Creed’s post-punk crooning. It sounds like the amp section of a late 90s surf film (VHS), in the best possible way.

“Unpredictable and exciting,” says Toby Cregan of the Wash live experience. As a good pal, biz partner and filmmaker to all members, Tobes has had plenty of time to observe them at their most raw. “I’ve seen Ellis jump in the crowd, Creed kinda freaks me out with his spooky dark vibe, but I mainly watch Beau belt the fuck out of the drums – he hits ‘em real hard.”

And as a testament to how good Wash are, regardless of their main occupations: “Surprisingly at their shows it’s not heaps of surfers,” says Tobes. “A bit of a mix, but I would say there are quite a few people that don’t even know that the boys surf.”

Since Stab so adores Wash’s raw glitter, and we’re captivated by their taste, we asked Creed, who has not only seen every surf film ever made, but also most skate films, to curate a playlist of songs that Wash would use to soundtrack a surf movie. Click play and cue through below:
