How Making Surf Films Saved Logan Dulien’s Life
Dave Prodan and Chucky talk Snapt, RVCA’s early days, managing Mickey Avalon, opioids and much more!
Logan Dulien is one of Stab‘s favorite occasional collaborators, a trusted source within the forever insulate industry, and perhaps the most surf-stoked man living south of the Orange Curtain.
Logan’s responsible for the turn of the century amp classics Snapt 1 and 2. He was the SMP team manager largely responsible for blowing up a young Asher Pacey’s profile. When Pat “PM” Tenore needed a circus tamer to handle RVCA’s early motley crew and early development on the surf front, Logan was his man. When Mickey Avalon blew up, Logan was the puppeteer behind the scenes making moves.
Kick the tires, check the mileage, Logan’s down for life like few are in these fair weather days. After copping a heavy opioid habit, Logan kicked the monkey off his back by surfing Every. Single. Day. All while working tirelessly making an independent surf film the year Kai Neville declared the form DOA.
With a few years of sobriety and the biggest surf film of 2018 under his belt, Logan sat down with the WSL’s Director of Core Dave Prodan to tell his story, and talk about his upcoming release Snapt 4.
It’s one of the best conversations between two surfers we’ve heard. Click in, here.
