FOMO Warning: Stab’s Tour Diary Is Back

This time we’ve broadened our horizons, venturing from Australia’s west to east, with surfers, lenses and our muso friends; Alex Lahey and The Belligerents.

The holiday break is dead. It’s likely by now you’ve crawled back to your desk – wherever that may be – head spinning, yet somehow eager for more. Memories of road trips, inebriated gatherings and various social events haunt fresh in your mind. But, now you’re back, drowning in a sea of electronic mail and impending deadlines.

You need something to look forward to.

Well your friends at Stab and Summer Bright have a sprinkle of light, a north star to guide you through the darkness of obligations and responsibilities. Yes, we’re going back on tour and you’re all invited. 

Remember late last year when we hit the road with Cub Sport and Middle Kids? Well we’re looking down the barrel of another run of shows, another Summer Sessions tour, with no tickets, quality live music and no entry fee whatsoever.

We’ve got Alex Lahey and the Belligerents on the bill this time round. A fine representation of where the bar’s at in Australian indie music. In fact, Alex Lahey just secured a fine result in this year’s hottest 100 with I Love You Like A Brother coming in at #36 and Every Day’s The Weekend making #45.

The bandwagon casts off in Western Australia, with two shows in Cottesloe and Vic Park, before jetting back out east to light up Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Coolangatta and the Sunshine Coast.

Once again we’ll have our cameras rolling, with our surfer bros and gals along for the ride. We’ll be shooting everything from surf action on locally shaped boards (specifically engineered for the tour), to every sip, smile and soiree between. Any show you can’t make yourself can be lived vicariously through the wonder of Stab’s digital media. It should be noted however that watching our weekly edits comes with an inherent FOMO warning label.

Because these shows are free we highly recommend that you get there as early as possible. As in start your pre-event libations during lunchtime – just to be safe. Last gig we held was wild; the venue surged through capacity before the support act had finished their set. People jumped fences – most were dragged out by their collars. Don’t be dragged out by your collar.
