Ain’t That Swell, Featuring Surfcore!
The episode before the upcoming live Swellian tour!
Shit, I’m a bit late to the party here. After deleting ‘the gram’ and dropping down to casual to pursue a data-crunching desk job, my mind has been far-removed from the humble world of surf. So far removed in fact I missed my favourite part about it – Ain’t That Swell!
In all honesty, I’m only just dialling up the podcast now, but it’s probably pretty good, so I figured I’d throw it up on here too.
In this episode, Papa Vaughan Blakey is off on the Hawaiian islands ‘working’, leaving Jeddery and whoever else he could get on all to their lonesome. Luckily the Swellians are a strong and diverse force, with many among them being educated enough to get behind the mic and spurt some shit. In this instance, the core-lord himself, Surfcore2001.
“A product of the Wollumbin-Caldera, that takes in such tapered sand-spits as the Superbank and talents such as Joel Parkinson, Mick Fanning, and Jay Phillips, Surfcore2001 is steeped in core lineage but, as you’ll hear, maintains the energy and quick-wittedness of his youth.”
Jed and Mr. Core talk about the Swellian political party, Hawaii’s stellar season, Paul Fisher’s every-increasing fame, the seemingly endless ask us a question segment and of course, Jed gets real fucking angry.
Click on the play button and listen with me. We might be two weeks late, but who cares!
Side note: There’s an Ain’t That Swell live tour coming to a hovel near you, head over to their IG page @theswellian for more details.
