A WSL x Ain’t That Swell Crossover!
Ronnie Blakey joins the usual duo for a Rio and wavepool heavy instalment of Ain’t That Swell
Ain’t That Swell might be inconsistently scheduled and unsolicited, but this unfunded aural installment also comes with entirely unmoderated commentary. Now, we’re used to hearing Jedaum, Vaughan and even ‘wet-lettuce’, Danny Johnson, let rip without consequences; however, it’s not often we hear raw thoughts being disseminated by the likes of a WSL commentary panelist.
Ronnie Blakey is not generally one to withhold his honest opinion, nor add an additional 180 degrees to every rotation, but the WSL broadcast doesn’t particularly lend itself to the sort of unmoderated discourse taking place in the Ain’t That Swell ‘studio’.
Instead of heading to Brazil, Vaughan’s brother, Ronnie opted to spend over two hours addressing everything from wavepool warfare, to the end of racism (thanks to team World), the life of Andy Irons and even got in amongst the ‘swellians’ to address some of the least considered questions to ever grace a podcast.
Stick around till the end to hear a story about Ronnie and Deadly fighting it out over an after school log drop. Or at least hold out until you hear Jed unveil his latest chart topping wavepool song (that you can find at the 1 hour 40 mark):
“The GOAT digs a mote and brings in Chris Cote…that’s Leemooray! When the tubes make you drool like a pasta fazool…that’s Lemooray!”.
A perfect match with your commuter grind, post-work wind-down or even a good excuse to not go surfing.
