South Sumatra had it’s “best season ever” in 2018, or so says Secret Sumatra Surf Camp. 

“2018 will go down as our best season on record, from the pumping beachie banks in Feb-March to the massive long period swells we had in April which pretty much continued till now (end of Aug) another huge one is due tomorrow and we just don;t know when this is gonna stop so for now put on your best set of headphones and escape to some of the best waves in the world, in one of the most consistent places on Earth and watch the creme de la creme of the best season on record,” their recent Vimeo clip (above) reads. 

And frankly, it’d be pretty hard to argue with what’s going on in the clip above.

Pumping beachies, massive tubes, great food and accom – pretty much everything a surfer could need on their Indonesian getaway. 

And despite their main surf season coming to a close, we hear the local beachbreak goes bananas in the rainy season. So yeah, safe to say we’ll be visiting ASAP.
