Watch Tan Madonna, The Feature Length Film By Al Knost
A true surfing pioneer’s directorial debut.
If you’re looking for two-to-five minutes of high-fi surf thrash, this film is not for you.
If, however, you’re one of many Al Knost disciples who’ve keenly watched his probing extended surfing culture over the past decade then you’ll lap it up.
You’d be hard pressed to argue that Al has not walked to his own beat in the professional freesurfing realm and carved a niche for himself that didn’t previously exist. We’ve seen Al Knost the surfer/muso/artist, but Tan Madonna‘s the first look we’ve had at Al Knost the director.
As one would expect this isn’t your regulation thrash clip, but that doesn’t make it any the less entertaining or the surfing any less valid. Tan Madonna features brief cameos from Al’s Vans stablemates Harry Bryant, Mikey February, and Karina Rozunko, and whilst their surfing is as sharp as ever, it’s Al’s surfing that really deserves your attention.
Hit play and revel in 24 minutes of truly unique surfing.
