“Pretty crazy, it feels like he’s been trying that for years,” said Ian Crane, after Stab High Japan champ Eithan Osborne firmly landed a backside optical illusion in the flats of Atlantic Park Surf.

The unorthodox backside stalefish body varial has never been done before… and flummoxed even the most technical skate nerds in our comment sections.

“What the hell is even that…” wrote Curren Caples.

We saw it live, and watched it in slow-mo another hundred times, and we don’t have a technically proficient answer for you.

Eithan is calling it the Skinny Meat-Spin.

“I feel like that just raised the level of everything in the event,” said judge and competitor Eric Geiselman.

With Day One of Stab High Virginia Beach presented by Monster Energy beginning tomorrow, we ran 15 hours of practice waves today, and we sent Josiah Amico to go prowl the pool for insights, interrogations, and interviews.

Broadcast starts at 8:30 AM EST time tomorrow, first heat is 9AM. Good luck to all of our soldiers tonight.

This event is supported by: Monster Energy, Vans, Quiksilver, Yeti, Sun Bum, Kona Big Wave, GMC
