You Can Now Watch Roark’s ‘Arc of Aleutia’ on Apple TV
It’s 30 minutes of frigid bliss.
The ‘Arc of Aleutia’ was ignited by a story. A man named Bob Kemp ventured to the Aleutian Islands of Alaska in the 70s and explored the barren coastline. The island’s local inhabitants dropped him off at a remote bay, where he camped for a whole summer in isolation.
Alone in a place that seemed inhospitable, Bob had found a source of life. The energy he uncovered came in the form of hollow shelves and everlasting point breaks.
Between the tale of empty peaks and some of Bob Kemp’s grainy photos, Harrison Roach was hooked. He got Roark crew members Parker Coffin and Nate Zoller to hop on multiple flights, and they set off for the rigid frontier. Alongside them was a film crew of Chris Burkard and Ben Weiland, which basically guarantees cinematic success.
‘Arc Of Aleutia’ is a culmination of artistic expression. Aside from ample surf, it covers the uncertainty that comes with wandering into uncharted territories. There’s nothing more captivating than the thrill of the unknown. The mystery and potential danger spark interest and uncover our primal relationship with nature. It feels undeniably good to be off the grid, and the Roark crew will testify to that.
