Watch: Florida’s Best Unknown Surfer
A pier rat of the highest order.
If you follow any social media accounts that fancy Florida surfers, you probably recognize the name Robbie McCormick, or Rastaa Rob. He’s one of the few Floridian talents actually capable of getting under one of those infamous South Beach bombs.
This new clip comes from our dear friends over at Log Wraps (not to be mistaken with Log Rap), a business venture we “highly” admire (wink wink). It features Rob putting on a clinic at his home break, Flagler Beach Pier. A beautiful bowl section, if you can pick one off the local crew (you can’t, and I wouldn’t recommend trying to). Given grandma’s proximity to this break, I spent many of my teenage learner years getting harassed here—fiending for any inside scraps I could salvage.
Robbie, however, doesn’t care for leftovers. He gets every air, hack, and barrel he can fit on his plate. Fast, powerful, lofty. As expected, every square inch of the sandbar is dialed into his impressive North Florida formula.
Watch ‘High Lines’ with Robbie McCormick here. And crank up the volume, it’s LogWraps baby!
