Watch: Best Hossegor In 10 Years? 

“France is a land of great possibilities. One could live there in great luxury, but one could die of frustration too.” — D.H Lawrence, apparently. 

Might also be an apt description of surfing in France. Great possibilities, and on those days when the French beaches show up, there might not be a prettier sight in the world. One could find great luxury there.

But just as often, an illusion. Shifting banks, currents, and the cruel fact that it’s harder than it looks to be in the right spot at the right time. One could just as easily to die of frustration there, too. 

More than likely user error, but still. 

Over the past week or so, Hossegor has been firing. The kind of beachies you dream of, sparking claims of the best in a decade floating through the ether. We tend to avoid biting the grandiose, but you, of course, are free to draw your own conclusions.
